I love this quote from a song, but not sure if it means what i think? help?

It's obvious and I don't even listen to songs like that. It means while your young, you're excited about life, and the world is ur oyster blah blah blah, but then you get old, and things get more boring, less exciting and settle down, and ur life still goes on, but the "thrill of living" has ped away, b/c at that point ur worn out by life
